
The Future Internet continues to gather momentum.
Future Communications project is following nearly the Future Internet Assembly Activity. Dr. Martin Serrano acting as front end between future Communications project and Future Internet Assembly is pushing up FutureComm Project activity into the Future Internet framework through Security, Privacy and Trust as well as Future Internet Socio-Economic Clusters. Fifth Future Internet Assembly (FIA). In April/May 2010 with the support of the Spanish EU Presidency will hold the fifth Future Internet Assembly (FIA) in Valencia establishing FIA as a fixpoint within the Future Internet initiative.

Bled Declarartion for the Future Internet Assembly (FIA). The conference on The Future of the Internet - Perspectives emerging from R&D in Europe was held in Bled, Slovenia from 31 March - 2 April 2008. leaders representing Research & Innovation in Europe (Industry and Academia representatives) have signed the Bled Declaration. FutureComs Project was present in the 6th international workshop on Wearable Micro and Nanosystems for Personalised Health was held in Oslo, Norway, 24-26 June 2009.
A bi-lateral brainstorming session about Healthcare scenarios in FutureComm was held in the Interaction Design Centre at University of Limerick (UL) between researchers from UL and TSSG on Feb 19, 2009.

The 3rd meeting of the HEA PRTLI Cycle 4 programme FutureComm took place in NUI Maynooth, hosted by the Hamilton Institute and the Dept. Sociology.
The 2nd meeting of the FutureComm research programme, funded by HEA PRTLI Cycle 4, met in University Limerick on Mon 26th and Tue 27th May 2008, hosted by the Interaction Design Centre (in UL).
The HEA PRTLI Cycle 4 programme "Serving Society: Management of Future Communications Networks and Services" held its kick-off meeting on 31st January 2008 in Waterford Institute of Technology.
